Here goes nothing!

Well it's officially my first post on my FIRST blog! I can't believe it. I'm not sure if any of you out there are going to be interested in what I have to say, but what the heck!

I figured I'd start off with some snippets of information about myself. I'm a 24 year old law student and I'm originally from Florida. I'm married with two dog-children! Since it's summer right now, I spend most of my time devouring my way through books. And I mean LOTS of books.

Actually, books are the main reason I started this blog. I've read so many INCREDIBLE books lately, that I feel I should give a couple of them a shout-out and review.

(In no particular order of preference)

1) A Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

What can I say about this book? It was absolutely fantastic. The underlying story about Abby and the secret feelings that Travis (the man-slut) is developing are so well weaved into the story. Trust me, I am the first person to jump on the douche-bag hating bandwagon, but before I knew it, I was crazy about Travis' character. The way Jamie wrote his personality compelled you to fall in love. And then there's Abby.. Oh Abby.  Such a secretive, keep everything tucked away kind of girl. Which of course turned out to be my favorite thing about her. I don't want to throw out any spoilers, but what a heart-wrenching story. The count-down is ON until Walking Disaster (Travis' POV) comes out!!! I can't wait. The bottom line: This book is excellent. I'll probably re-read it this weekend.. Again. And cry and laugh..Again. Go get it-you can thank me later.

2) Slammed and Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

Slammed is the first book in the series and written from Lake's POV. Seriously, what girl can't relate to this story? Instant connections, the pushing and pulling of feelings that aren't "socially acceptable" and life tragedies. Ah, oh so familiar. I also love the random song lyrics and fantastic quotes. Carving pumpkins has a whole new meaning :)

Point of Retreat is the second book in the series and written from Will's POV. Again, the emotions and situations in this book are so familiar. It is so heartwarming and real. In both books I just ached for every character. I cried when they cried, laughed when they laughed and just felt like I was a part of Lake and Will's world. Again, I'm sure I'll be re-reading these two books this weekend and I can't wait! Again people, go get these two books-you won't regret it!!

I think that's probably enough for now. I'm creating a new recipe for crock-pot chicken that I'll turn into Moe's/Chipotle style burritos later.. If it is delicious, I'll probably post it. Thanks for reading and have a terrific Tuesday! :)
